The Hayward AquaTrol RJ-TL Salt Chlorinator for Above Ground Pools automatically generates pure chlorine from the salt water that passes through the plates inside the cell. With a salt chlorinator, you are still sanitizing with chlorine but it is a more pure form of chlorine. This process of salt chlorination provides soft and silky smooth feeling swimming pool water. Using the AquaTrol RJ Salt Chlorinator provides sanitized safe water and a more comfortable swimming experience.

The Hayward AquaTrol RJ salt cell installs vertically directly below the return jet using the right-angle cell mounting adapter. The lower end of the cell attaches using 2″ rigid PVC pipe or 1-1/2″ – 1-1/4″ flexible hose. The Hayward AquaTrol control box has a digital interface with seven diagnostic indicators and an easy-to-read salt display. It features Power, Generating, Super Chlorinate, No Flow, Test Salt Level, High Salt, and Inspect Cell options for understandable updates and evaluations. The control box also features a twist-lock type plug in cord and runs on 120V/15A for efficient operation. With a 24-hour timer that controls pump filtration in 15 minute segments, AquaTrol promises automated convenience for hassle-free pool care.

The Hayward AquaTrol RJ comes with everything needed for installation, including the control box, salt cell, union connections and adapters for return jet mounting. A flow sensor is not needed for this model.Note: The W3AQ-TROL-RJ and the W3AQ-TROL-HP use the same owner’s manual. The Aqua Trol Electronic Chlorine Generator (also known as a salt chlorinator) is designed specifically for above ground pools up to 18,000 gallons. The Aqua Trol has all the same functions and features of the Aqua Rite but with a lower chlorine output.

The Aqua Trol also has an integral time clock for control of the pool filtration pump. Since many above ground pools already have a single electrical outlet for the filter pump, the Aqua Trol is designed with an outlet (timer controlled) for the filter pump to plug into, the Aqua Trol then plugs into the original outlet the filter pump was using. The savings on chlorine and electrical power alone (if the pump was previously running 24 hours), will have the Aqua Trol paying for itself in just a few short years. The Aqua Trol system typically installs in less than 30 minutes and is very easy to operate.
