PR-10,000 Phosphate Remover

PR-10,000 Phosphate Remover | Orenda Products

Orenda Technologies Phosphate Remover PR-10,000 is a highly concentrated rare-earth phosphate remover. It is formulated to react with phosphates in the water, allowing them to be removed from solution. It reacts with all known types of phosphates on contact and hardens them into a fine precipitate, which falls out of solution to be vacuumed or filtered out. PR-10,000 causes cloudiness, which can last anywhere from a few hours to a few days. Use as needed and follow dosage guidelines.

Due to its high concentration, a small amount of PR-10,000 goes a long way. It is one of the original Orenda Products and is professional-grade.

Why Remove Phosphates?

Chlorine cannot remove phosphates, so to reduce them, a phosphate remover is necessary.

How to Use PR-10,000

Do not exceed 8 fl.oz. per 10,000 gallons unless specified. Overdosing can cause excess precipitate and high filter pressure.

PRO TIP: Use CE-Clarifier to help filter out precipitate faster.

PRO TIP 2: For cloudy or dirty pools (where the main drain isn’t visible), purge with CV-600 or CV-700 enzymes first. Oils in the water can suspend PR-10,000 fallout if not broken down. Use Green Pool Cleanup Procedure for green pools.

Phosphates and Chlorine

Why remove phosphates? Phosphates feed microorganisms like algae. Removing them won’t kill algae, but slows their growth rate. This helps chlorine maintain control.

Phosphate removal and organic waste removal help disinfectants target harmful contaminants more effectively.

Where Do Phosphates Come From?

1. Chemically: Many metal/scale control products use phosphonic acid (not Orenda’s SC-1000). These are often added during pool startups.

2. Organically: Phosphorus is naturally in soil. Landscaping runoff or well water can carry it into pools.

3. Tap Water: Municipal water may contain phosphates due to pipe corrosion control and treatment processes. Always test your fill water.
