X-VAC Installation
Attach XVAC’s skirt by pulling it over the body and positioning it above the foot pad.
Connect the hose nozzle assembly, ensuring the locking nut is in position. Insert the safety valve into the skimmer with the arrow facing the water flow direction.
Connect the long hose pieces and the link hose to the system as described. Ensure all fittings are secure.
To purge air, submerge the hose and cleaner, or feed water into the hose via the return jet. Once submerged and settled, start the filtration system to initiate operation.
If the skirt doesn’t lie flat initially, place it in sunlight briefly or allow normal use to flatten it.
X-VAC Care and Maintenance
Store hoses straight not coiled.
Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight when out of water.
Clean with mild detergent; avoid harsh chemicals.
Maintain proper pool water chemistry.
Maintenance Tips
Keep baskets and filters free of debris to maximize suction and cleaner performance.
Inspect and replace worn skirt, foot pad, bump strip, and hammer as needed.
Ensure hoses are flexible, straight, and leak-free. Replace brittle or cracked hoses.
Chemical Use
Harsh chemicals may discolor the XVAC but won’t impact performance. Maintain ideal water conditions:
Fiberglass pools:
Total Alkalinity: 120 150 PPM
pH: 7.0 7.2
Chlorine: 0.5 1.0 PPM
Marblesheen pools:
Total Alkalinity: 80 120 PPM
pH: 7.2 7.6
Chlorine: 1.0 1.5 PPM
Safety Valve
Adjust the valve settings as needed to optimize cleaner movement. Ensure system suction is sufficient and leak-free. The valve body can be separated and repositioned with PVC if needed (not supplied).
Hose Weight & Movement
XVAC performance may vary by pool. Adjust hose length and safety valve settings to achieve optimal performance. Attach hose weight on the second section closest to XVAC if needed.
Troubleshooting
Ensure the filtration system is working properly and provides adequate suction.
Clear debris from the hammer chamber and ensure free hammer movement.
Inspect foot pad, hammer, hose connector, and locking nut for wear and blockage.
Debris
Clear all baskets and the cleaner of debris.
Suction
Backwash filters if needed and ensure strong, consistent suction.
Check hose connections for leaks and proper fit.
Wear and Tear
Replace worn skirt, foot pad, and hammer as needed.
Behavioral Issues
Moves short distance: Follow tips under “Does not move.” Remove hose weight.
