Search for a Jandy VS FloPro or a JXi heater and you will find plenty of listings, almost all of them with a catch: no price, “call for availability,” or a price that disappears at checkout. Here is what is going on and how to buy Jandy equipment properly.
Why Jandy equipment is not sold by online stores
Jandy (part of Fluidra, which also owns Polaris and Zodiac) sells its Pro Series equipment only through authorized brick-and-mortar dealers and pool professionals. The policy exists because the warranty depends on installation by a qualified pro and because Jandy wants a dealer accountable for the sale. An internet-only retailer cannot be an authorized dealer, so anything they ship either comes through a gray channel or is a parts-and-accessories item that is not restricted.
What that means for the warranty
Jandy equipment bought from a non-authorized seller has no manufacturer warranty, even if it arrives sealed in the box. Bought from an authorized dealer and installed by a licensed pool contractor, a Jandy pump, heater, filter or salt system carries the full warranty, which on most Pro Series equipment is three years, extended when it is part of a complete Jandy equipment pad. The dealer registers it and handles the claim if something fails.
What is restricted and what is not
